Tell us about yourself?

It’s always difficult talking about oneself!
I’m a very people oriented person. I like exploring people’s views on life and themselves and a major believer of “everything happens for a reason”. Very positive thinker and very easy to approach. I’m one of those people that always want to learn and in a conversation I will never be stubborn to my opinion but I will take the words of the other person and see if they are right. I’m impatient, that’s one of my flaws.

What experience brought you to yoga? Tell us about your Yoga Journey

I started my yoga journey when I was 19 with a friend just for fun. Since then, my love for yoga stayed with me. Having two children and a full time job I decided to take one of my teachers’ advice and become a teacher. I did a CPD 100hrs, a 200hrs YTT and a further 95 hrs children YTT. Last year I and Fotini Dimitiou created Bright Light Workshops delivering YTT 200hrs, kids Yoga 95hrs and workshops all around the globe.

Other than yoga, what are your hobbies or favorite ways to spend your time?

I haven’t got much of free time as a mother you never kinda have! But when I do I study for my degree in becoming a therapist and combining it with yoga therapy and spend as much time as possible, when the weather permits it in England (haha) in nature.

Other than yoga, what is your favorite way to take care of yourself?

Spending time with yourself is important, get to know who you really are if you take out all the people that surrounding you and their influence on your personality. A great exercise is 10 minutes meditation to ground and listen to your body and yourself; what do you want? what does the body saying ? After a 5 min visual exercise in the mirror; look deep into your eyes, your soul, confront who you are and what you want. Are you happy with your life? With everything that contributes to the life you have up to now? The body and mind with synchronize and give you the answers you’re looking for. They’re coming as a thought and staying with you all day. That’s my self-care daily routine.

What is your life’s philosophy? The mantra you live by?

Everything happens for a reason and the universe knows better is the two lines I’m using to comfort myself and others around me. It’s a lifestyle as soon as you start living with it everything falls into place and your path is clear.

What is your favorite place that you have travelled and why?

I’ve visited such great places which I’ve met beautiful people and cultures but not my favorite one as yet. Far East and Latin America is on my favorite places in my to go list.

Narrate an experience as a student of yoga that has changed you.

It’s the small things. When the information from the teachers’ lips arrive to the part of the body that it should be. For example all the directions your teacher calls not all of them arrive in time to the parts of the body but one day they do and all you thinking is “ oh this is what she / he was talking about!” It’s like magic…

The best ways get in touch with you.
